Weddings are a celebration of love, so how could we not pay homage to the ultimate holiday of love? This Valentines wedding planning inspiration brings on the romance and the rosy tones. I teamed up with Wild Heights Events to create a styled shoot at this industrial NYC loft wedding venue. We wanted to share the ultimate Valentines wedding ideas.
Featured on Ruffled Blog, this New York wedding inspiration shoot is the perfect valentines themed wedding.
As an NYC fine art wedding photographer, we wanted to capture the essence of the big city on someone’s big day. We found an industrial NYC loft event space in Long Island City. Specifically, our team loved the bright natural light from the windows, soft grey cement floors. There were stunning whitewashed exposed brick walls. Industrial lofts make for an amazing blank canvas for a wedding venue.
To begin with our day, we softened up this look by filling the space with florals, delicate glassware, and crisp paper goods. The New York loft wedding space acted as the perfect backdrop for an ultra-chic, feminine tablescape. This wedding idea shoot in New York was the perfect marriage of modernity and femininity.
The Valentines wedding color palette came to us easily: we knew we wanted rosy tones. We wanted the pinks to stay soft, and to align with the matte textures we had from the plates and vases. However, while we wanted depth, we didn’t want too much of a contrast within the tablescape. Coupled with the soft ombre of the flowers, they provided their own softness to the space. It was filled it with a variety of color and texture.
Victoria from Designs by Anh brought her touch of femininity with her sculptural designs. The table was dressed in pink, white, and gold. Each place setting in this NYC loft wedding venue was adorned with a flower-filled acrylic box with “XO” hand-lettered on top. Jubilee Paper created a wonderful invitation suite, a beautiful display of pink hues and effortless lettering. The menus were gently tucked into the place settings.
Like a puff of paint dust, magically organic with wild pastels, the arch floated above the couple. As if suspending them on cloud nine, these florals added a soft whimsy. Inspired by the fluff of hanging florals, we chose Liza Ray’s off the shoulder dress for this Valentines wedding shot.
Complimenting the cloud-like feel of the arch were delicate detached tulle sleeves. We chose to have the bride’s hair down in loose waves for a soft elegant look. Her dark brown hair perfectly contrasted with the gold Iris Studs by Jade OI, perfect for an industrial New York loft wedding.
Meanwhile, we wanted to show how a ceremony arch could be repurposed during the cocktail hour. Turn your arch into a beautiful floral moment for a sweetheart table, or an intimate dinner. It’s the perfect idea to reuse florals to be more environmentally friendly.
In addition, it’s also a budget-friendly wedding idea to reuse an arch to be part of a dinner setup. For the second part of the shoot, we got our fashionable and practical bride to wear Liza Ray’s jumpsuit, accompanied by sheer gloves.
We wanted to create this shoot to remind people that Valentines Day is a day to celebrate your love, enjoy romance, and to go all in on the pinks.
