Over the weekend, my husband Gabriel and I did a photoshoot all on self timer! Through the years of directing my wedding couples how to pose, I have become a pro when it comes to getting two bodies to interact naturally and effortlessly for photography. These are my go – to couple poses that will make you look like you walked out of a Vogue Photoshoot!
As a personal preference, I know that my side profile isn’t as flattering as my 3/4 side profile. On the other hand, Gabriel my husband has a strong jaw line that makes his side profile the most ideal angle for him.
Knowing how to pose is so important to getting great photos. However, if you are not good at it or do not know how to pose with another person, practice posing in front the camera. These are some directions that I use to help make my couples feel comfortable .
Have your foreheads touching
Hold hands in a flattering way .
Think of soft touches rather than tight grips.
Practice kissing. You can try kissing your partner’s forehead, neck, or shoulders. This can really heighten the intimacy in your photos without a full on smooch!
Find body positions that you feel comfortable in. I find that a sitting down pose can be an easy way to get your bodies feel connected instantly. You can Cuddle into the arms of your partner, lean onto their shoulders or have your husband to be hold your waist to accentuate your body figure.
Think of an action! One example can be holding hands and walking in a straight line. Another example could be doing a simple dance – holding hands and swaying slowly!
