Chris and Christina’s wedding at 501 Union was an absolute dream. Not only are they the best people to work with, but they are also incredibly creative. Christina is an art director and Chris is an architect. These two came together to plan an elaborate event at this Brooklyn wedding venue.
They drew inspiration from a trip to Cuba in 2018 for their wedding theme. These two were inspired by the palm walls of their wedding venue – 501 Union. Moreover, they came up with a theme “art deco meets pre-revolutionary Havana.” A consistent theme throughout their wedding was minimalistic, yet classic and classy.
This Brooklyn wedding venue matched their theme perfectly. Across the street from their sister venue, the Green Building, 501 Union boasts one of the most beautiful and unique wedding venues in New York City. For both ceremonies and receptions, this stunning venue has high ceilings and modo chandeliers.
The 501 Union space for ceremonies is absolutely stunning. In particular, it’s filled to the brim with natural light. This is one of those event spaces that stays with you forever. In fact, every wedding guest was amazed with the perfect set up of this gorgeous Brooklyn wedding venue. This venue also has full service caterers, perfect for a seamless wedding day.
Christina and Chris met on OkCupid and dated for about eight months before he moved back to Canada. He later returned to NYC, and their big city relationship picked back up. Christina always had a feeling that he was the one, but when she was diagnosed with breast cancer in 2018, he was there for her. She knew at that moment that she wanted to be together for the rest of their lives.
Christina’s off-the-shoulder Kelly Faetanini dress was just perfect for the occasion. Christina is part of the Young Survival Coalition, and as a supporter of the organization, Kelly worked with Christina to design her wedding dress of dreams.
Christina wanted something minimal and clean. They combined two of her dress styles into one off the shoulder top with a fitted skirt. Kelly also provided an over skirt to turn the dress into an A-line silhouette!
This Brooklyn wedding was a true dream come true – from the chemistry the two had, how awesome and supportive their friends and family were. Their vows were beautiful, and there were so many thoughtful words that every guest had when speaking about the couple. You know the two of them have had such a beautiful journey already, and I was so excited to document a new chapter of their lives.
